Regarding licensing and source code, see section, for usage section, for information about how to compile yourself see section and to learn about limitations of this build, see section. Update : Starting with version 2.9+9 of my x265 builds, 8- & 10-bit color depths are now supported in the form of a 32-bit multilib build. The two oldest builds also come as individual binaries for each color depth. That’s no longer supported for the 32-bit versions, so those can encode to 8-bit color depth only. The newer 64-bit versions are multilib builds which give you the ability to encode to 8-, 10-, and 12-bit per channel color depths by specifying the color bits with the -D option. For each revision I decide to build you’ll get the 32-bit as well as the 64-bit versions. The key feature here being the XP and Vista compatibility, which is not the default for compiling x265 on Windows. This page is a collection of my x265 releases for Windows XP/Vista 32-bit and Windows XP 圆4 Edition / Vista 圆4 as well as all newer releases of Microsoft Windows.
